Chino Valley Well PumpWell pump repair referral line (928) 655-8940

Symptoms

What to check before you call a well pump company

You do not need to diagnose anything. A few safe checks just help the company understand the problem faster.

This is a referral line. When you call, you are connected with an independent local well pump company.

Safe checks

  1. Breaker. Is the well breaker on? Reset once if tripped.
  2. Gauge. What does the pressure gauge read?
  3. Tank area. Any water on the floor or a hissing sound?
  4. Filter. If you have one, is it badly clogged?
  5. Leaks. Any running toilets, open hoses or wet ground?

Things to leave alone

The pressure switch cover, the control box and any wiring. Do not open the well cap. Do not adjust tank air. These either carry household voltage or need the system drained and set correctly.

Facts to have handy

Your address and cross street, the well registration number if you know it, approximate well depth, pump age, and what changed and when. The ADWR Well Record Search (opens in a new tab) can fill some gaps.[source]

Questions to ask on the call

What will you check first? When can you come? Is there a trip charge? What is your Arizona ROC license number? You can confirm a license on the Arizona Registrar of Contractors: contractor search (opens in a new tab).

After the call

Write down who you spoke with, what they said, and when they plan to come. If you get more than one quote, keep them side by side and compare what each includes. Ask for a written invoice when the work is done, listing the parts and the pump setting depth, and keep it with your well records.

Questions

What if I cannot find anything?

Call anyway. The company will ask questions.

Will they charge to come out?

Ask on the call. Pricing is set by the company.

How do I confirm a license?

Use the Arizona ROC contractor search.
